How Can You Help?

Theme Baskets

Each skating level will be given a theme and we would like the skaters to contribute items for that particular basket. We ask that you keep the items to a $20 and under limit. Please drop off items to the office no later than November 15th. Raffle tickets will be available at $2 per ticket or 3 tickets for $5, until December 15. Basket draws will take place on Dec. 15.

Basket Themes are:

COMPETITIVE - Movie Theme, ie: anything to do with going to the movies, or DVD’s

CompSTAR-bath, body, make-up basket

Intermediate STAR- small gifts for boys and girls 11 and up ie: sport activity theme, balls, Frisbees, games

JuniorSTAR- sweets and treats

PreSTAR- Santa’s toys, small gifts for boys and girls age 10and under

CanSKATE- scratch and win tickets

We sincerely hope that all skaters will get involved in this fun activity and let’s get as many items as we can to make the baskets more enticing to raffle off.

Your Fundraising Committee We would also like to ask the coaches to do a liquor theme which will also be raffled off near Christmas.

75th Anniversary Gala

   Date: Saturday April 6, 2013
   Location: Dave Andreychuck Mountain Arena and Skating Centre

The 2012 - 2013 Season will be Hamilton Skating Club's 75th Anniversary Season. That makes us one of the oldest Skate Canada Club's in the country! HSC was founded in 1938 - the era of Swing, Big Band, black & white movies, and more. This is such an amazing milestone, that we are holding a 75th Anniversary Gala to celebrate it. This will include a Dinner, Skating Show, Silent Auction, Dance and more. We are at the start of the planning stages so we do not have exact details available at this point in time, but will release information as it becomes finalized.

What do you need to do? Reserve the Date in your Calendar to make sure you come out and Celebrate with us!

Fundraising We will be fundraising between now and April 2013 to raise funds for the gala.

Sponsors and Donations HSC will appreciate any and all Sponsors and Donations for our gala. We will have more information available in the new year.

Memorabilia If you or know of someone who has any skating memorabilia please let us know if we can borrow it or include it as part of our Silent Auction. This includes any photographs, printed material etc..

Are Volunteers Required? ABSOLUTELY! We are in the process of determining what we require in terms of volunteers -but we already know that it will be an army of volunteers to pull this off. If you can help out (even if you can only do it for a short period of time), it would be appreciated. We will also need many volunteers on the week leading up to the gala and the weekend itself (setup, during, tear down).
