About HSC
The past 70 years at the Hamilton Skating Club has seen many highlights. We have had several skaters reach the sectional, provincial, national and international podium.
In more recent times the Hamilton Skating Club has had staff member, Lynda Thompson our CanSkate Coordinator, become the recipient of the prestigious Skate Canada award for ”Best of the Best“ in Canada for CanSkate program delivery. This award was presented to Lynda at the Skate Canada AGM in Regina in June of 2008.
The 2008-2009 season marked the success of the Hamilton Skating Club being presented with the Skate Canada resident's Challenge by having the greatest increase in Recreational membership within Western Ontario. This accolade was acknowledged at both the Western Ontario AGM in London and Skate Canada's AGM in Edmonton in June of 2009.
In 2010 we saw Canada host the Olympics in Vancouver. The Hamilton Skating Club was proud to be represented at the games by our very own Bryce Davison with his partner (at the time) Jessica Dube in the Pairs event. Bryce has remained a proud Hamilton Skating Club member even though his training took place in Quebec and Alberta. Bryce continues to support the development of our future competitive skaters in Hamilton as our Director of Skater Development.
We are very excited as 2012 - 2013 season will be the 75th anniversary of the Hamilton Skating Club. Stay connected with us on our website, Facebook page, and Twitter for volunteer opportunities and events that will be leading up to the 2012 - 2013 season.
